GMPs on the way

Several sources reported dietary supplement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) have left the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), with White House approval, after a lengthy stay, according to the Natural Products Industry INSIDER.

This action paves the way for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to publish a 1,300-page guideline in the Federal Register. It has taken more than a decade to establish GMPs, which come at a time when food safety is at the forefront of issues at the FDA.
