TCA supports ‘Anti-Ambulance Chasing’ bill

A bill that would restrict the ability of chiropractors and other professionals from soliciting business from accident victims has been filed in Texas.

Filed by U.S. Rep. Todd Smith, HB1519 would create a 30-day waiting period before an injured party could be contacted by phone or in person. The Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA) opposes this practice and will support the legislation in an effort to further improve the professional reputation of chiropractic within the state. The bill will take effect Sept. 1, 2007.
