SBA'S live Web chat to highlight disaster readiness
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will highlight “Disaster Readiness for Small Business Owners” in its upcoming live Web chat May 24 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., EDT.
Madelyn H. Flannagan, vice president of education and research for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Inc., and Rick Jenkins of SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance will host the one-hour chat, which is being held simultaneously with Hurricane Preparedness Week, May 20–26.
Web chat participants will have the opportunity to learn about adequate insurance coverage for their business or home, as well as emergency readiness and preparedness planning for small businesses, including business continuity.
Flannagan and Jenkins will share their expertise in disaster preparedness and answer questions about how to best prepare for physical disasters, including how to minimize property damage and economic loss and lay the groundwork for recovery. Participants will also be able to ask questions about the SBA’s disaster assistance program.
Participants can join the live Web chat online at www.sba.gov and clicking the “Online Business Chat” icon. Participants may post questions before May 24 by visiting http://app1.sba.gov/livemeeting/may07/index.cfm.
