NBCE holds 2007 Board of Directors election
Delegates from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) elected directors in three districts at its annual board meeting May 4.
Robin Lecy, DC, of South Dakota will replace Jerry Blanchard, DC, in District I; Donna Craft, DC, of Michigan will replace Frank Hideg, DC, in District II; and Norman Ouzts, DC, of South Carolina was elected to District V, replacing Steve Willen, DC, who vacated the position in 2006.
Directors in the other two NBCE districts will continue their terms: Drs. Mary-Ellen Rada of New Jersey in District III and Theodore Scott of Utah in District IV. District directors are elected for three-year terms.
In addition, the board elected two directors-at-large —Rick Cole, DC, of Tennessee, who will serve a three-year term, and Edwin Weathersby, DC, of Arizona, who will serve a two-year term. NBCE Directors-at-Large Drs. Vernon Temple of Vermont and Earl Wiley of Ohio will continue their terms.
The board meeting was held in conjunction with the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards’ (FCLB) 81st Annual Educational Conference in St. Louis.
The two remaining positions on the 11-member NBCE board are appointed by the FCLB. FCLB President Oliver Smith, DC, and FCLB Vice President Daniel Saint-Germain, DC, will serve as the FCLB-appointed directors for the coming year.
The NBCE Board then elected officers for the executive committee. Vernon Temple, DC, was re-elected president, while Scott and Rada were re-elected treasurer and secretary, respectively. Wiley was elected chairman of the board, while Weathersby was elected vice president.
