CCRC receives FCER grant
Cleveland Chiropractic Research Center (CCRC) has been awarded a grant made possible by the Foundation for Chiropractic Education Research (FCER) — the first FCER grant the college has received since 1995.
Cheryl Hawk, DC, PhD, vice president of research and scholarship at Cleveland Chiropractic College, and principal investigator for this study, announced that the funds will be used for a pilot study titled “Does Chiropractic Care Decrease Risk of Falls Adults Aged 65 and Older with Impaired Balance?”
Each year, about one-third of people age 65 and older who are still living at home suffer a fall. This is a concern, as two-thirds of all accidental deaths among older people are attributed to falls, many of which are caused by poor balance. The CCRC study will examine this important health concern for older adults.
