Mestan gets approval from NYCC board of trustees

Michael A. Mestan, DC, DACBR, was appointed by New York Chiropractic College’s (NYCC) board of trustees to serve as the college’s executive vice president of academic affairs.

Mestan has served as the college’s executive vice president of academic affairs in an interim capacity since Jan. 1.

A native of Chicago, Mestan earned a bachelor’s degree in human anatomy in 1992 and a chiropractic degree from National College of Chiropractic, now known as National University of Health Sciences, in 1994. Later, he attended Los Angeles Chiropractic College’s three-year full-time diagnostic imaging residency program.

In addition, he chaired Parker College of Chiropractic’s department of radiology and directed its diagnostic imaging residency program; headed NYCC’s Department of Diagnosis and Practice; and, in 2003, headed the college’s Department of Chiropractic Clinical Science. He has also served as an associate professor at NYCC since 2002.

Most recently, he was selected as a fellow of the International College of Chiropractors.
