F4CP getting the message out
Positive messages about chiropractic are changing the public’s perception of the profession, according to the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress
Beginning in July 2006, a full-page advertisement featuring Sarah Harding, Ms. Fitness USA 2006, sharing her positive story about chiropractic appeared in national publications such as Sports Illustrated, U.S. News and World Report, Business Week, New York Times Magazine Health, Martha Stewart Living, and Working Mothers. As of June 2007, there have been more than 23 million positive messages about the profession.
In addition, more than 128 newspapers in 10 states with 2.8 million subscribers included the Foundation’s March advertorial about the importance of physical fitness. The Foundation also sent an advertorial to 10,000 newspapers in the country, this time focusing on backpack safety.
Each month, the Foundation sends one or more public service announcements (PSAs) to more than 2,400 AM/FM radio stations in the country to spread a positive message about chiropractic. Since January, the number of radio stations carrying the Foundation’s PSAs has increased from 14 to more than 100.
The Foundation also sends out monthly press releases to media editors across the country and has initiated blogging efforts to enhance the image of chiropractic.
Money donated to the Foundation is used to promote the profession. If you wish to make a pledge and/or contribution to the Foundation, please visit www.foundation4cp.com. Contributions are also received at P.O. Box 560, Carmichael, California 95609-0560.
