IRS offers tax teleconference

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will conduct a free phone forum about payroll and foreign workers Aug. 15, 2007.

The workshop is geared to help small business owners learn about:

• Immigration and tax laws,
• Common types of visas,
• The difference between resident and nonresident aliens, and
• Withholding rules for income and social security taxes, form W-4 rules, and applicable international agreements.

The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period. Three sessions will be offered — 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. EDT.
