Are you a 'Sam Malone'?

Are you more of a "Sam Malone" or a "Simon Cowell" when it comes to your management style? And do your employees see you in the same way you see yourself?

A survey commissioned by CareerBuilder.com (www.careerbuilder.com) asked respondents to identify their bosses with television personas.

The most popular responses of the 5,700 respondents were:

  1. Sam Malone from "Cheers,"
  2. Charlie from "Charlie’s Angels,"
  3. Judge Judy from "Judge Judy,"
  4. Donald Trump from "The Apprentice,"
  5. Simon Cowell from "American Idol,"
  6. Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons,"
  7. Miranda Bailey from "Grey’s Anatomy,"
  8. Michael Scott from "The Office,"
  9. Tyra Banks from "America’s Next Top Model," and
  10. Jack from "Lost."

Why these characters? Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder.com, pointed out the traits associated with these characters:
