CCE invites input to standards

The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) is inviting the public at large for its opinions on the standards for doctor of chiropractic programs.

Specifically, the CCE Standards Review Task Force is interested in opinions on five questions:

  1. What do you see as the strengths of the current standards?
  2. What do you see as the weaknesses of the current standards?
  3. What is the one “must keep” part(s) of the current standards (if any) that absolutely must be retained in the new standards?
  4. What is the one part(s) of the current standards (if any) that should be removed?
  5. What else do you think is important for the task force to consider as it goes about the process of revising the standards?

A current copy of the CCE standards for doctor of chiropractic programs and requirements for institutional status may be found on the CCE Web site at www.cce-usa.org under “Official CCE Publications.”

In the fall of 2006, the task force held public hearings to seek input at professional chiropractic organizations including the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC), American Public Health Association — Chiropractic Healthcare (APHA-CHC), Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (COCSA), Foundation of Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER), Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB), International Chiropractors Association (ICA) and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE).

The task force plans to continue holding these public hearings throughout the development of the first two drafts of the revised standards. The public will also have the continued opportunity for written feedback as the drafts are developed.

The CCE Executive Office must receive input for review by the task force no later than Sept. 15, 2007 at: Council on Chiropractic Education, 8049 N. 85th Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85258-4321.

Comments may also be sent by e-mail to cce-@cce-usa.org. All electronic versions are acceptable, but they must include an embedded signature.
