Canadian CAM competition accepting nominations

Nominations are open for the Dr. Rogers Prize for Excellence in Complementary and Alternative Medicine — the first ever major cash prize offered to a researcher or practitioner working in the field of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in Canada.

Individuals are encouraged to nominate colleagues, doctors, therapists, researchers, medical scientists, and others who have made a significant contribution to the field of CAM within Canada.

To qualify, each nominee should:

• Demonstrate a commitment to the practice or research of CAM;
• Be a catalyst in advancing the field of CAM treatments;
• Have made significant contributions to the field;
• Demonstrate positive influence among their colleagues and those they serve;
• Have shown vision, leadership, and integrity in all their activities; and
• Have a history of collaboration across disciplines and healing philosophies.

Nominations will be accepted until May 31, 2007, and the winner will be announced November 1, 2007, at a Gala Award Dinner in Vancouver.

Full details on how to submit nominations and complete details about the prize are available at www.drrogersprize.org. Nominations are accepted in French and English.

The $250,000 prize, funded by Vancouver’s Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation, will be awarded biennially starting this year. The Dr. Rogers Prize is the largest of its kind in North America.
