CCC picks Kansas locale
Cleveland Chiropractic College (CCC) is close to completing a deal to purchase the former Farmers Group Inc. building in Overland Park, Kansas.
Last August, however, it wanted to buy the former Farmland Industries headquarters near the Kansas City International Airport.
CCC participated in a nationwide, sealed-bid auction for the Farmland building conducted by a Chicago firm, but was edged out in the bidding by the Kansas City Aviation Department, which paid $18.1 million for the Farmland property.
Carl Cleveland, CCC president, released a statement concerning the school’s real estate activity:
“Beginning in 2002, the college engaged in a metrowide campus relocation search… “Currently, Cleveland Chiropractic College is finalizing a facilities acquisition and soon will formally announce the campus relocation.”
