NYCC develops diversified clinical experiences

New York Chiropractic College has entered into an affiliation agreements with the Miami Veterans Administration Medical Centers (VAMC) and an internship agreement with Stony Brook University, New York’s second largest university.

Earlier this year, NYCC signed its fourth agreement that added the VA Medical Center in Bath, N.Y., and enabled rotation through that site’s chiropractic clinic. In addition to the Bath and Miami VAMC affiliations, NYCC maintains similar programs at the Buffalo, N.Y., Canandaigua, N.Y., and Rochester, N.Y., VAMC.

NYCC is currently preparing for selected interns to spend their fall trimester at VAMC. Students will gain hands-on experience treating patients in the hospital learning environment. The Miami VAMC, which serves veterans throughout southern Florida, will give NYCC’s chiropractic interns an opportunity to undertake medical rotations in the hospital’s various departments.

The Stony Brook agreement will enable NYCC’s students to experience hands-on clinical training at the Stony Brook University student-health centers. NYCC currently affiliates with SUNY Farmingdale, and with New York’s largest university, the University of Buffalo.

Stony Brook University is a member of the Association of American Universities, the invitation-only organization of the best research universities in the country.
