FCER launches insurance-denial survey
The Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER) has launched its “Insurance Denial Survey,” as its first State of Research initiative. The survey, which takes approximately six minutes to complete, will tabulate insurance denial information specific to each state. It will also identify nationwide trends.
The survey may be accessed at the FCER Web site, www.fcer.org. The deadline for responses is Sept. 15.
“The first step in addressing this problem [of insurance denial] is to survey the profession regarding what they are actually experiencing in the field,” Charles Herring, DC, FCER board member and facilitator for this project, said.
All who respond to the survey will receive the results, and the results also will be shared with the state chiropractic association leadership.
Once the information is tabulated, FCER will work with practitioners, educators, organization leaders, insurance representatives and others to develop strategies and tactics to work more closely with insurers. “The information will be invaluable,” Dr. Herring said. “A by-product of the survey will be the identification of research topics that are critical to the chiropractic profession’s success.”
