Medicare appeal amount changed

The Medicare controversy-requirement amount for the Federal District Court of Appeals has increased for 2007.

Providers who are not satisfied with a determination from Medicare can enter a multilevel process to appeal the determination in Federal District Court. This level of appeal requires a certain amount of money be under dispute. For Federal District Court review requests made on or after Jan. 1, 2007, the amount in controversy has increased to from $1,090 to $1,130.
