Palmer College celebrates
chiropractic anniversary
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Palmer’s
Davenport campus celebrated Founder’s Day and 111 years
of chiropractic. It was on Sept. 18, 1895, when D.D. Palmer
performed the first chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard.
The event was commemorated
with a ceremony and the traditional wreath presentation in
the Student Union, which was followed by a reception. Campus
tours were also offered. The Founder’s Day celebration
was held on Sept. 19, rather than Sept. 18, due to National
Boards testing.
“Founder’s Day
offers us the chance to reflect on the history of our college
and of the profession,” said Davenport campus President
Donald Kern, D.C. “We are fortunate to be a part of
the Palmer legacy and be able to walk the same halls as the
founding family.”
