Northwestern to honor Traina

Northwestern Health Sciences University will honor Alfred Traina, DC, at its fourth annual Stars Among Us Gala on Nov. 4, at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Traina is being recognized for his commitment to Northwestern. From 2001-2006 he served as the University’s fourth president. During his presidency, Northwestern:

  • Created and implemented a five-year strategic plan;
  • Expanded its fundraising efforts;
  • Developed plans for a building expansion/renovation expected to begin in 2007; and
  • Reorganized its clinic system, which records more than 60,000 patient visits a year and now breaks even financially.

The gala is an annual fundraiser recognizing the many people who have been instrumental in building the University’s international reputation as a natural healthcare pioneer. The program will begin with a cocktail reception at 7 p.m. followed by dinner, an awards ceremony, dancing, a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament, and dozens of chances to win prizes. Last year’s event raised more than $35,000.
