November 2006
Steroid awareness week
set in New Jersey
New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine
proclaims November 27 through December 2, 2006, as “Steroid
Awareness Week” across the state with the National Coalition
for the Advancement of Drug-Free Athletics, Inc. (NCADFA)
for the second straight year.
In 2005, under the leadership
of Acting N.J. Governor Richard Codey and at the urging of
the NCADFA, a New Jersey based 501(c)(3) non-profit charity
organization, New Jersey became the first state in the union
to officially declare a week dedicated to help raise awareness
about the dangers associated with the use and abuse of anabolic
steroids.
The state of New Jersey has
established the Governor’s Task Force on Steroid Use
and Prevention to combat steroid use before it becomes a public
health crisis. The NCADFA is proud to announce that its trademark
Choose NOT to Use Awareness Campaign will once again publicly
support the Governor’s proclamation efforts.
