Northwestern recognizes outstanding student leaders

Many awards were presented during the 17th annual Student Leadership Recognition Dinner event on March 23, including three student leadership awards and the Student Legacy Award.

Three teacher of the year awards were presented, as well as one administrator of the year award. In addition, members of the Student Senate were recognized as well as presidents of clubs and organizations on campus.

The 2005-2006 Northwestern Health Sciences University student of the year awards were student-nominated awards given to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership skills. The College of Chiropractic Student Leadership Award was given to Sarah Radabaugh; the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Student Leadership Award was presented to Sarah Lake; and the School of Massage Therapy Student Leadership Award went to Jeff Lockhart.

The Student Legacy Award, given to one an exceptional leader who greatly impacted the University throughout the entire time that he or she has been a student, was given to Brad Woodle.

The 2005-2006 College of Chiropractic Teacher of the Year award was given to Joseph Sweere, DC, a professor; the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Teacher of the Year award was presented to Mei Wang, PhD, an associate professor; and the School of Massage Therapy Teacher of the Year award was given to Joni Holst, NCTMB, an instructor. The Administrator of the Year award was presented to Dr. Traina.
