Video parodies allopathic healthcare
A free animated video parodies the state of healthcare in the United States. The video, called “The Town of Allopath,” was released by Mercola.com, a popular alternative healthcare Web site.
The seven-minute video parodies all members of the existing healthcare system — the pharmaceutical industry, the self medical profession, the Food and Drug Administration, the general public, and even the so-called “crackpots” who are ridiculed for sounding the alarm.
Joseph Mercola, DO, founder of Mercola.com and a healthcare provider who wants to change healthcare in America, said he expects to be inundated with hate mail “from those who have a vested interest in maintaining the medical status quo.” The goal of the video, he says, is to illustrate the need for people to wake up to the issues of “political favors, scientific bias, widespread greed, shady deals, and self-imposed ignorance.”
Mercola said that his Web site was attacked after release of the video. Articles on the Web site were made inaccessible.
The video is available at www.mercola.com/townofallopath/townofallopath.htm.
