USBG to celebrate HerbDay 2006

The U.S. Botanic Garden (USBG) will celebrate the first annual HerbDay during the week of October 8 and culminate in a national celebration on October 14.

The USBG’s HerbDay events include a series of four lectures on the health benefits of botanical products on Friday, October 13. An Herb Fair will follow on October 14, with a wide range of activities that will focus on the beauty of herbs and their health and culinary uses.

Classes, lectures, demonstrations, and many children’s activities will be ongoing, as well as walking tours of the beneficial plants in the Botanic Garden collection.
