Pennsylvania auditing bill passes
Legislation that limits auditing billing errors to a 12-month time frame has passed the Pennsylvania legislature. The bill was proposed by the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association.
The bill passed with 195 yeas, two nays, and six abstentions, according to Gene Veno, executive vice president of the PCA.
Prior to passage of this bill, representatives from the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians testified in support of it.
The new law does not affect retrospective audits for clear and distinctive fraud.
