Northwestern establishes memorial scholarship
The Dr. Montserrat Benet Gregg Memorial Scholarship Fund which honors one of Mexico’s prominent chiropractors was established at Northwestern Health Sciences University. The scholarship memorializes 33-year-old Montserrat Benet Gregg, DC, a 1996 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic who was killed in a car crash on July 22, 2005.
Gregg and her father, Enrique Benet-Canut, DC, played an important role in bringing chiropractic education to Mexico. Working closely with Northwestern, Benet-Canut established a chiropractic college in Mexico and was approved use of Northwestern’s curriculum in their program. In September 2005, the first class of chiropractic students at the Universidad Estatal del Valle de Ecatepec in Mexico graduated, fulfilling Dr. Benet Gregg’s legacy.
Contact Northwestern’s Office of Development at 800-888-4777, ext. 212 or 237 for more information or to make donations to the Dr. Montserrat Benet Gregg Memorial Scholarship Fund.
