VCA urges member action
on pending legislation
The Medical Society of Virginia (MSV) plans to introduce legislation in the Virginia General Assembly to limit the use of “physician” to medical doctors and osteopaths, according to information received by the Virginia Chiropractic Association (VCA).
VCA has obtained an advance copy of the draft legislation.
The VCA fears that if this legislation is passed, the ability of chiropractors in Virginia to participate in Medicare and workers’ compensation, as well as your reimbursement by insurance plans, will be at risk.
VCA is asking its members to write or e-mail legislators and urge them to oppose this pending legislation. Communication should be sent by January 4.
