WC2 launches Web site
A 20-year-old organization
for women chiropractors, the World Congress of Women Chiropractors
(WC2) has launched a Web site and is encouraging women worldwide
to join the organization.
According to Pat Gayman, DC,
president of the organization, the organization was started
in 1980 as the Women Doctors Club by Dr. Jim Parker, as a
segment of the Parker Seminars. She explained, “He [Dr.
Parker] quickly encouraged us to incorporate so that we are
not limited to activities only associated with Parker Seminars.”
In 1982 the group was given
the name it has today.
Today the association has
members in 15 states: California, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
New Mexico, New York, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Indiana,
Georgia, Virginia, Nevada, Colorado, and Iowa.
The organization offers networking
and mentoring opportunities for women chiropractors.
Board of trustees of the organization
include Drs. Gayman (president), Rose Lepien (vice president),
Louise Ritchie (treasurer), Rachel Miller (secretary), Rebecca
Nystrom (mentor matching), Lisa Ansell, and Maureen Davis-Furshman.
