‘Chiropractic’
places 39 in NASCAR race
Chiropractic raced toward
health — and this time finished in 39th place at the
Allstate 400 (formerly known as the Brickyard 400) at the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway August 6. The Dodge, partly sponsored
by Drs. Oliver Smith II and Tom Georges of El Paso, Texas,
bore the tagline, “Chiropractic: Racing Towards Health”
on its bumper.
Smith and Georges first entered
the car in the 2004 Brickyard 400. That year, it did not qualify
for the race. This year, however, the car, driven by Chad
Chaffin, qualified 25th out of 50 cars and finished the race
at 39, taking home $134,525 in winnings.
“Although we qualified
25th, we ended up starting the race 43rd due to losing our
qualifying motor in practice before the race,” said
Georges.
Smith and Georges are NASCAR
aficionados who race trucks as a hobby. They were featured
as a Success Profile in the August 17, 2004, issue of Chiropractic
Economics.
