Logan to offer master’s
degree in sports science and rehab
Logan University and its College
of Chiropractic announced that it has received approval from
the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association,
a regional accrediting agency, to offer a master of science
degree in sports science and rehabilitation.
The program will be open both
to those who wish to earn concurrent MS and DC degrees, and
to those students who have already earned a bachelor’s
degree and want to enroll to complete master of science study.
Classes for the masters program begin in September.
The master of science degree
in sports science and rehabilitation is designed to offer
a specialized advanced degree option for sports injury management.
It requires 50 hours of course work including classroom, lab,
and clinical experience taken over a five-trimester period
or approximately 20 months. Students in the doctor of chiropractic
program can concurrently work towards the MS degree during
their doctoral education.
As Logan expands its range
of degree offerings, the college will utilize the official
nomenclature of “Logan University” for all of
its masters programs. Use of the Logan University name was
approved by the Logan Board of Trustees in February 2000 and
subsequently confirmed by the North Central Regional Accreditation
Association.
