CCC promotes ‘Straighten Up America’
Empowering people to maintain better spinal health from grade school through their golden years is the primary goal of the “Straighten Up America” program, a health-promotion initiative endorsed by Cleveland Chiropractic College.
Spearheaded by J. Alan Lovejoy, DC, an associate professor for the college’s Kansas City campus, Cleveland’s involvement has included the creation of program brochures, various sponsorship activities, and presentation of the program to area schools, social groups and other organizations.
“Cleveland Chiropractic College has been collaborating with Life University to take ‘Straighten Up America’ into public schools and the community,” Lovejoy said. “It has been very well received by those who have been involved thus far. The program has created a lot of excitement and positive momentum for the students at Cleveland.”
A free public service program, “Straighten Up” is a three- to five-minute spinal exercise module that is divided into activities. The “Star Series Warm-Up,” “Flying Friends Posture Pod” and “Core Balance/Wrap-Up” sections are all geared toward improving posture and spinal health.
For more information on the “Straighten Up” program or future related activities sponsored by the college, contact Lovejoy via e-mail at alan.lovejoy@cleveland.edu or at 816-501-0289.
