Scoliosis screening required in Virginia schools
The state Board of Education in Virginia is requiring public schools to adopt screening or information programs for scoliosis for students in grades five through 10.
According to a published online report from TV station WAVY, each school division must examine students for signs of scoliosis, give parents information about the disorder or implement a screening program. Virginia is the most recent of 21 states to adopt school scoliosis regulations.
