CCGPP publishes fourth paper in best-practices series
The fourth in a series of papers written by the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters is available in its entirety at http://www.ChiroEco.com/ccgpp.
The article, “The Process to Select Relevant Research,” explains how the committee identifies appropriate research papers that are considered for the best-practices development.
Author John J. Triano, DC, PhD, research professor in the department of engineering, biomedical engineering program at The University of Texas, says in the paper that the selection of articles constituting the relevant evidence for the practice of chiropractic is made by a team, not by any single individual. “Each team follows a common pattern to determine the most common disorders, treatments and diagnostic methods for review,” he writes. “One advantage of this process is a more readily achievable product describing best practices that can be applicable to the broadest distribution of offices within the profession.”
