Ambassador Program seeks chiropractors for fall trip
People to People Ambassador Programs is coordinating a historical delegation of chiropractors who will travel to South Africa October 16-25, 2005. Delegates will visit South African healthcare centers and chiropractic colleges and meet with health professionals in several cities.
The exchange will include extensive discussions on chiropractic care in various clinical settings in South Africa; chiropractic education, clinical training and research in South Africa; and the AIDS epidemic and the role of chiropractors in providing palliative care/ enhancing quality of life.
The chiropractic delegation is being led by Lisa Zaynab Killinger, DC, 2003-2004 chair of the American Public Health Association; Chiropractic Healthcare Section.
“I encourage my fellow chiropractors to pursue this rare and exciting opportunity,” said Killinger. “Delegates can play a role in defining the themes for discussion, and will be able to both share and gain insights through the exchange.” Killinger is hoping to have at least 15 chiropractors sign up for the program.
Delegates will visit three primary areas — Johannesburg, Kruger National Park and Cape Town — to experience South Africa’s culture and heritage. They will enjoy a photographic safari in Kruger National Park and explore the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town.
The People to People Ambassador Program has been providing foreign educational travel experiences for professionals for more than 40 years. Through meetings, seminars and cultural activities, participants connect with people in similar professions overseas. The programs join common interests in uncommon places through journeys that enrich the world, one person at a time.
The program was established by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
