Companies launch campaigns to help Katrina victims

Two chiropractic vendors have launched separate but related campaigns to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Foot Levelers’ Inc. and Integrity Management (formerly Kats Management) have both sent information to practicing chiropractors to raise funds. The Foot Levelers’ program promises to match funds donated to the Red Cross, up to $200,000. The company organized a similar program to help 9-11victims and within two weeks, the campaign raised more than $500,000.

Integrity Management has also set $500,000 as a goal for its campaign, “Let’s Kick Some Aid,” which is aimed at involving individual practitioners in their communities. Donations will also go to the Red Cross.

The company has developed a set of promotional materials available to all chiropractors for downloading (www.integritymanagement.com). Included in the kit are a sample press release, a flyer, a letter, and an e-mail.

The practice-management company is encouraging chiropractors who participate to donate all first-day services (consultation, exam, and x-rays) in exchange for a donation specified by the participating chiropractor. Current patients who donate the specified amount will receive an adjustment at no change. Participating chiropractors are encouraged to match donations.

To participate in the Foot Levelers’ program, mail a check made out to the American Red Cross to Foot Levelers’, Inc., P.O. Box 12611, Roanoke, VA 24027-2611. Credit card or check-by-phone donations are also being accepted; call 800-553-4860. The Foot Levelers’ program will be open only until September 12.

Foot Levelers will send a thank-you note confirming that donation matches. The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) has encouraged its members to support the Foot Levelers’ program.

To participate in the Integrity Management program, which will run from September through October, go to the company’s Web site, www.integritymanagement.com. The program is open to all chiropractors, not just clients.
