New venue adds excitement to FCA National Conference
An impressive new venue for the National Conference of the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) allowed 2,600 registered attendees to roam 75,000 square feet of exhibits and pick from 47 courses for continuing education credits. The conference was held at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla., Aug. 26-28, 2005.
“We held our first-ever general session on the Future of Chiropractic, featuring some of the brightest minds involved in studying, forecasting, and impacting the profession’s future,” said Debbie Minor Brown, FCA CEO.
Florida chiropractors, licensed massage therapists, and acupuncture physicians earned up to 20 continuing-education credits during the three-day event, while chiropractic assistants could earn 12 hours. The continuing education courses offered at FCA were approved for chiropractic license renewal in more than 40 states.
“Everyone commented that they enjoyed the new, bigger facilities,” said Brown. “Many more attendees brought their family members to enjoy all the Gaylord has to offer. Classroom facilities, food, and parking facilities received overwhelmingly positive remarks.”
COMPANIES, INDIVIDUALS RECOGNIZED
This year, the expo was bigger than ever, with 500 exhibits from 304 companies. The FCA recognized a number of exhibitors for their exceptional booths: Advantage Claims, Core Products, Chattanooga Group, Pro Solutions, Allied OSI Labs, ChiroCere, NCMIC, Bioactive Nutrition, Foot Levelers, Aquamed, Chirotables.com, LED Visual, Harmony Cone, Spinal Aid, Vega Sign, and Visual Odyssey.
FCA gave out a number of other awards:
• Advertiser of the Year — Hessco,

• 20+ Years of Vendor Support — Hill Laboratories,
• President’s Award — Standard Process and Standard Process of Florida,

The success of the conference was partially due to the corporate sponsors, according to Brown:
“Next year (2006) is the 75th Anniversary of the Florida Chiropractic Association,” said Brown. “Many special events will highlight this milestone at FCA National. We encourage DCs nationwide to mark their calendars for Aug. 25-27, when we will again be at the Gaylord Palms for the largest convention and expo in chiropractic!”
