UK study reports benefits in chiropractic,
alternative therapies

A report commissioned by Prince Charles suggests that five popular alternative therapies — osteopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, homoeopathy, and herbal medicine —are effective in treating chronic conditions such as back pain, anxiety, stress and depression and should be incorporated into Britain’s National Health Services.

The UK report also describes the cost-effectiveness of CAM therapies based on several case studies and recommends that the British National Health Service cover alternative therapies.

The study was led by Christopher Smallwood, a former chief analyst for Barclay's Bank.
