October 2005
SBA Web chat to help disaster victims
The U.S. Small Business Administration will host an October Web chat series on “SBA’s Disaster Loan Program” for small business owners affected by recent disasters. SBA Administrator Hector V. Barreto and Herb Mitchell, associate administrator for Disaster Assistance, will share with the small business public information on the SBA’s disaster assistance program, who can apply for disaster aid, and how disaster assistance can be requested by business owners, homeowners and renters.
The live Web chat series will engage business owners in a national dialogue on disaster assistance for small businesses, while allowing Web-chat participants to get important information on the role of the SBA in providing disaster recovery aid. Participants will have direct, real-time access to the Web chats via questions they submit online in advance and during the session, with instantaneous answers.
Barreto and Mitchell will answer questions for one hour October 26, 2005, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (EDT). Participants can join the live Web chat by going online to www.sba.gov, and clicking “Your Small Business Voice Online Chat.”
Web chat participants may post a question for Barreto and Mitchell before the October 26 chat by visiting http://app2.sba.gov/livedlp/intro.cfm and posting their questions online.
