Logan students eligible for ICAK scholarship

A student at Logan Chiropractic College will be the recipient of the 2005-2006 $2,500 George Goodheart Scholarship, according to the International College of Applied Kinesiology-U.S.A. (ICAK-USA). The scholarship is funded by Standard Process.

To apply for the scholarship, students must:

• Be a seventh trimester student or above,

• Be an active member of Logan’s AK Club,

• Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better,

• Be endorsed by the AK Club, ICAK teaching diplomate, AK chiropractic college instructor or AK club faculty advisor, and

• Submit an essay of no less than 500 words describing applicable work experience, academic strengths, career objectives, reasons for applying, experience with the use of nutrition, and experience with AK including future plans for research.

Applications must be made by Oct. 30, 2005, and will be reviewed by the ICAK-U.S.A. Research Committee members. The winner will be announced in December.

The scholarship is named for George Goodheart, DC, who developed a new system of evaluation in chiropractic during the 1960s.

ICAK-USA, established in 1974, is an organization of licensed-to-diagnose healthcare professionals who utilize a range of therapies which focus on prevention, nutrition and wellness.

Standard Process is Wisconsin-based company that offers whole-food supplements and high quality herbals.
