Logan to offer VA clinic services

Logan College of Chiropractic has entered into an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide part-time chiropractic clinic services at the VA’s Jefferson Barracks facility in south St. Louis County.

The Logan clinic at Jefferson Barracks will be open three days a week under the direction of Logan clinician Ron Boesch, DC. Boesch will work with Laura Kroupa, MD, primary-care service line director for the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC).

In 2002, the U.S. Congress enacted legislation that required chiropractic healthcare services to be offered to patients in the U.S. Veterans Administration system. In February 2004, Glenn Bub, DC, chief of staff of the Logan Health Centers, began discussions with Kroupa and Margarethe Hagemann, MD, chief of staff of the St. Louis VAMC, about providing chiropractic services to veterans at Jefferson Barracks.

Logan College has approximately 1,100 students at its 112-acre campus located in west St. Louis County. It was established in 1935 and is the second-largest chiropractic college or university in the United States.
