ICA billboard touts chiropractic safety
The International Chiropractors Association (ICA) is promoting “Chiropractic is safe” through a billboard campaign.
In June, an anti-chiropractic organization erected a billboard in Connecticut that claimed, “WARNING: Chiropractic Adjustments Can Kill or Permanently Disable You.” Chiropractors led a local protest focused on the advertising company that rented the billboard containing the message. Hundreds of calls to the advertising company from doctors of chiropractic and chiropractic patients persuaded the company to cover the message the following afternoon.
The ICA billboard has been erected on the same site where the anti-chiropractic board had been.
“ICA members worldwide are determined to share with the public an accurate, ethical and responsible message about chiropractic,” said ICA President John K. Maltby, DC.
The association has also established a Web site (www.chiropracticissafe.org) for consumers, offering information on chiropractic safety and effectiveness.
