Northwestern hires chair for integrative health program
Northwestern Health Sciences University has hired Kevin McCarthy, DC, DACBO, as its new chair of the university’s integrative health and wellness program.
McCarthy brings to Northwestern nearly two decades of teaching experience. From 2001-2004 he served as vice president for educational and clinical development for the Palmer University system. He is also the founder of Metanoic Dialogue - Chiropractic Dialogue, a consulting and training organization.
The integrative health and wellness certificate program offers both graduate and undergraduate certificates for clinical and administrative professionals. The program is cross-disciplinary and integrative, with a focus on enhancing adult learners’ ability and credentials to establish or work within an integrative health and wellness practice.
McCarthy, who has been a faculty member for the Integrative Health and Wellness program since September 2004, has plans to repackage the program so potential students can clearly identify how it will benefit their careers. “Students need to be able to see that they could absolutely take the skills they learn here and use them in the workplace,” he says. “My biggest goal is to make sure we develop a program that resonates so people who are looking at it say, ‘That makes sense.’”
