Next ICA pediatrics seminar set for Ireland
The International Chiropractors Association’s (ICA) Pediatric Council’s seminar on “Chiropractic, Pediatrics and Pregnancy” will be held July 15-16, 2005, at the Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Participants will be exposed to 16-hours of “intensive” learning and “an educational experience that no doctor who cares for, or is interested in caring for infants, children or pregnant women should miss,” according to Lora Tanis, DC, chair of the ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics.
“This is the ICA Pediatric Council’s first seminar to be held outside North America,” said Tanis, chair of the ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics, “and we thank the Chiropractic Association of Ireland for co-sponsoring the program and making it possible for us to share the information, experience and education we have gathered over the years with people in Ireland, UK and Europe.”
The seminar will be taught by Drs. Joan Fallon and Lora Tanis (United States) and Joyce Miller (United Kingdom). All three of the instructors are recognized for their expertise and contributions to education and research in chiropractic pediatrics.
During the two-day program participants will learn about infantile colic, pediatric orthopedic conditions, autistic spectrum disorders, correct procedures for examination and assessment of infants and toddlers, prenatal care and birth.
The conference will also features discussions on the chiropractic approach to common pediatric conditions as well as unusual clinical cases from the practitioners’ clinical files. Techniques for adjusting the infant, toddler and pregnant patient (including breech turning technique) will be taught in workshop format.
