Supplement company donates to developing countries

Naturally Vitamins, an Arizona-based manufacturer of nutraceuticals, recently donated nutritional supplements to MAP (Medical Assistance Programs) International for malnourished children in countries in West Africa and Eastern Europe.

The donation included essential vitamins and minerals in short supply such as a multi-mineral formula, vitamin C, calcium/magnesium blend and cod liver oil. MAP International will distribute the nutraceuticals through its worldwide network of partner agencies.

MAP International CEO Michael J. Nyenhuis says that the need for nutraceuticals continues to grow in places where there is little or no access to health and medical supplies and services. “These supplies will help bring essential vitamins and minerals where they are greatly needed by expecting mothers and children,” Nyenhuis said.

Founded in 1954, MAP International is a nonprofit Christian relief and development organization with offices in the United States, Kenya, Cote D’Ivoire, Ecuador, and Bolivia. In 2004, more than 70 pharmaceutical companies partnered with MAP to provide over $232 million worth of medicines and medical supplies worldwide in 115 countries.
