SOTO joins TMD Alliance
Sacro Occipital Technique Organization (SOTO) – USA has joined the American Alliance of TMD Organizations (TMD Alliance, an affiliation of 11 different national and state level societies that share interests in the problems of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and craniofacial pain.
This organization, now in its tenth year, represents over 13,000 members.
“For the chiropractic profession to grow, it must create interrelationships with other disciplines,” said Charles Blum, DC, president of SOTO-USA. “We are leading the way by creating co-treatment models of TMD with the dental profession and we hope to make similar associations with other professions as well. The future of health care lies in developing a team approach.”
The TMD Alliance consists of various dental organizations that focus on treatment of TMD. It includes the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Pain Management, American Association for Functional Orthodontics, American College of Prosthodontists, American Equilibration Society, American Prosthodontic Society, International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, Society for Occlusal Studies, Tennessee Cranio, Pennsylvania Craniomandibular Society, and Sacro Occipital Technique Organization – USA.
The SOTO-USA annual multidisciplinary clinical symposium in St. Louis, October 6 will feature a dental – chiropractic co-treatment program.
