Massachusetts PI reform would limit chiropractic care
If the governor’s plan is put into effect, auto insurance rates in Massachusetts might go down, but so would the number of visits to a chiropractor for anyone injured in a car accident.
According to a June 2, 2005, online story in the Boston Herald, Gov. Mitt Romney proposes overhauling the state’s auto insurance system by phasing in market-set insurance rates, increasing fines for motorists who don’t buckle up infants and tots, and by limiting “nonmedical” treatments, such as chiropractic an acupuncture care, to 10 visits after an auto accident.
