Campaign for Chiropractic gears up

With two prominent corporate leaders agreeing to co-chair a vendors’ advisory committee, the Campaign for Chiropractic is gearing up, says Gene Veno, president of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (FCP). “We are now preparing advertising, public relations, and marketing materials that will be used to promote the benefits of chiropractic care and cause consumers to seek the services of chiropractors,” he wrote in an open letter to the chiropractic profession.

The media aspect of the campaign will be revealed at the 2005 Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) national conference in Orlando, Aug. 26–28.

Perry Isenberg, president of Biofreeze/Performance Health, and Charles Dubois, president of Standard Process, will co-chair the Producers and Suppliers Advisory Committee, one of several committees Veno has convened as a way to include chiropractic stakeholders.

He said that Karen Hammel of the Colorado Chiropractic Association has agreed to chair the Association Advisory Committee, and Frank Nicchi, president of New York Chiropractic College, is chairing the College Advisory Committee.

Veno reported that since FCP has been established, it has:

  • Received corporate pledges to fund more than $3 million over the next five years;
  • Retained a marketing research firm that studied public perception and global opportunities for chiropractic; and
  • Retained a nationally known public relations firm to create a marketing program.

“Like any other major effort that will determine the future of the profession,” said Veno, “we need your vote of confidence. We want to hear your ideas and comments — good or bad. And of course, we want to hear from you with a financial commitment to sustain the campaign.”

Veno can be reached by e-mail at gveno@foundation4cp.com. A campaign pledge form can be downloaded at www.ChiroEco.com.
