Parker announces new board members

Parker College of Chiropractic has announced the selection of three new members for its Board of Trustees. They are John Donovan, DC, Carroll, Iowa; Maria Fisher, MD, Arlington, Texas; and D. T. Nguyen, Dallas.

Donovan has practiced chiropractic for more than 50 years. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association, and the Chiropractic Knights of the Round Table. Donovan is also a board member of the National Institute of Chiropractic Research (NICR). He is a graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College and a member of the Palmer Academy of Chiropractors. Donovan has served previously on the Parker board.

A chiropractic patient, Fisher redesigned her medical practice into a wellness practice, encouraging patients to make healthy lifestyle changes. She holds certification with the American Board of Pediatrics and is a certified personal trainer through The Cooper Institute.

Fisher works with diabetic children to decrease their dependence on insulin by incorporating diet modification and exercise. She received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Omaha, and completed her pediatric internship and residency at the Creighton/Nebraska Universities Health Foundation, Omaha.

Nguyen brings 20 years of experience in healthcare, insurance billing, and technology to the Parker Board of Trustees. He is chair, president, and chief executive officer of Xactimed, a Dallas-based firm offering Web-based revenue cycle solutions and outsourcing services to the healthcare industry. Nguyen founded the company in 1998.

The three new board members succeed Brian Flanagan, Walter Parish, and Dean Baranowski, who have completed their terms of service to the Parker board. Parker board members serve as volunteers and are not compensated for their service.
