Effort undertaken to
organize DCs for disaster relief
An effort to integrate the
chiropractic community into a national emergency response
system is underway. The effort is being spearheaded by company
officials of Zonsite, LLC., the company that rallied chiropractic
emergency response in Dallas, following Hurricane Katrina
in August.
To assess the level of interest
and commitment within the chiropractic community, Zonsite
is asking you to complete a short questionnaire posted on
its Web site, www.zonsite.com.
The survey should be completed by Jan. 6.
“Dr. Ray Fowler [the
MD who headed up the Dallas emergency relief effort during
Katrina], expects chiropractic care to be included in EMS
disaster relief plans across the United States,” said
Bill DeWhitt of Zonsite.
“If the chiropractic
community would like to participate, we must be united for
that common goal and seize this opportunity now,” said
DeWhitt. “To support this level of commitment to our
country, we will need considerable organization, resources,
and finances. In a disaster zone, we need to respond in hours
not days.”
Zonsite is organizing a meeting
of key leaders within the chiropractic community to discuss
organizing a Chiropractic Emergency Response Team (CERT).
The meeting will occur at the Parker Seminars.
