Northwestern earns reaccreditation

The Commission on Accreditation (COA) of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) has renewed the accreditation of Northwestern College of Chiropractic for eight years, the standard award for reaffirmation of accreditation.

The accreditation process, begun in February 2004, was led by Charles Sawyer, DC, senior vice president and provost, and Rob Scott, DC, the former dean of Northwestern College of Chiropractic.

In March, a site team from the CCE visited Northwestern to assess the program. The CCE assessment team issued a report with recommendations. In early July, representatives from Northwestern responded to the findings in the report and the team’s recommendations during a meeting with the COA.

Following that meeting, the COA met in executive session and reached a consensus that Northwestern’s accreditation would be renewed.
