Life employee named outstanding library paraprofessional

Karen Preston, paraprofessional serials supervisor at Life University, has been named one of five outstanding Library Paraprofessionals in Georgia by the Georgia Library Association (GLA). She will be honored during the annual GLA Conference Awards Banquet, October 12-14, in Columbus, Ga.

Preston teaches a variety of classes such as bibliographic instruction and information literacy to patrons. She has trained staff members to manage the library in areas where staff had not worked previously.

Currently, Preston is pursuing a professional degree at Valdosta State University.
