Northwestern adds positions

Alfred Traina, DC, president of Northwestern Health Sciences University, recently announced several administrative changes.

• Roni Evans, DC, director of the Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies, is the new dean of research for the university. Among Evans’ duties will be assisting in the successful acquisition of clinical research funding; implementing clinical research; and transferring and applying research-related information to clinical practice and education.

Because of the increased demands on her time in her new role as dean of research, Evans will no longer serve on the University Cabinet, which is Northwestern's senior advisory group to the president.

• Gert Bronfort, PhD, DC, director of Northwestern’s Neck and Low Back Research Program, has accepted a new position as associate vice president of research. In his new role, Bronfort will also take a leadership position in helping the institution to advance its mission and work with the deans and faculty to identify and implement strategies to integrate evidence-based health care and best practices into program curricula. With his new position, Bronfort will become a member of the University Cabinet.

• Noni Threinen, DC, director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness will also be joining the cabinet. Threinen reports directly to Dr. Traina.
