MDs earn continuing ed for reading DC-authored article
Steve Troyanovich, DC, a member of Life Chiropractic College West recently published an article in Perspective in Neuroscience, a continuing medical education (CME) periodical distributed to more than 3000 medical physicians in Illinois.
Perspectives in Neuroscience is a quarterly publication designed for primary care physicians, neurosurgeons, neurologists and neuroradiologists. The purpose of the publication is to provide these physicians with current management strategies for dealing with a variety of disorders and conditions in the neurosciences, and provide up-to-date diagnostic and prognostic information written by specialists.
The magazine is sponsored by the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation (CINF), an organization founded by neurologists and neurosurgeons in Bloomington and Normal, Illinois with the mission of enhancing neuro-healthcare through education and research.
Troyanovich’s article, “Spinal Manipulation: An Overview,” discusses chiropractic manipulation of the spine and the documented safety and efficacy of the procedure. A ten-question self-administered test follows the overview and physicians may earn up to one hour of category 1 CME credit towards the American Medical Association’s Physicians Recognition Award by completing the self-test.
Troyanovich, a 1987 cum laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, has authored six books and authored or co-authored more than 40 scientific journal articles regarding chiropractic evaluation and treatment methods.
He currently serves as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics and the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine. He has been a member of the adjunct research faculty of Life Chiropractic College West since February of 2001, and physician researcher for the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation since 1998. He maintains a full-time practice in Normal, Ill.
